Hometown Nannies+ is owned & managed
by a Mother/former TV writer with a Master's degree in Counseling
and 21 years of domestic placement experience with Corporate, Professional,
Creative and Entertainment Industry families, beginning with Malibu
Mamas, inc., in 1988, (during the last Writer's Guild of America
strike.)
Malibu Mamas, inc. was listed as the "Best" USA Agency
by "W" Magazine (1998.) The agency was also written about in "In
Style," and mentioned in "Town & Country" and "Newsweek." MM inc.
was praised in local publications, as well, and was seen on the
"Leeza" show twice. (It was also in development to be a sit-com.)
Hometown Nannies+ was originally an affiliate of MM inc., created
in Connecticut and California in 1992. HTN+ has been written about
in "The Westport News" and seen on CT News 12. HTN+ upholds the
same, high standards as MM inc. Hometown Nannies+ . We are members
of the National Association for the Education of Young Children
(NAEYC), International Nannies Association (INA), and of the Westport
and Greenwich Chambers of Commerce. We have been called the "agency
antidote." Many of our client families find us via referrals from
other families.
Our pre-requisites for applicants are the following: Legal status,
fluent English, clean DMV, CPR (for childcare workers), minimum
2 years of experience (3 to work w/infants), and 3 excellent, local
references. Upon hiring and prior to the start date, we outsource
a 6-step, background check. In addition, we seek candidates with
long-term references whenever possible. We look for reliable, stable,
punctual applicants who can commit to a job. Our childcare workers
must be well-versed in the developmental needs of children. Additionally,
many of our nannies have daycare experience, some college credits,
some have college degrees and even Masters degrees. We also represent
candidates with teaching experience. Families - Viable
candidates: We offer top applicants, a lower client fee than many
of our competitors, and an excellent success rate. We have placed
thousands of domestic employees since 1988. Our staff is professional
and caring. We offer support before, during and pursuant to placement.
